Activity in 2008

• Organized competitions, popular talks and public meeting on the theme ‘Environmental Conservation’ on 12^th January synchronizing with celebration of the National Youth Day at Sankranti Sankrutika Parishad, Nuapada, Cuttack.
• Organized a workshop on Biodiversity Register on 16^th March in the premises of the Society at Bhubaneswar as a part of the programme of the National Environment Awareness Campaign. The Indian Science Congress Association Bhubaneswar Chapter colaborated the programme. Govt. of India in the Ministry of Environment and Forests and the Centre for Environmental Studies (Govt. of Orissa, Dept. of Forest and Environment) supported it.
• Collaborated the ISCA Bhubaneswar Chapter in organizing tree plantation, participatory discussion on biodiversity conservation, and workshop on 36^th World Environment Day theme “CO²- Kick the Habit: Towards A Low Carbon Society”, organized on 1^st June in the premises of the Society.
• Celebrated the 36^th World Environment Day on 5^th  June at the KIIT University campus, Bhubaneswar by holding popular meeting, and technical sessions on the theme  “CO²- Kick the Habit: Towards A Low Carbon Society”. The programme was collaborated by the KIIT University. A book on biodiversity was released on the occasion.
• Organized an interaction workshop on the theme “Impact of Dhamra Port Construction on the Olive Ridley Sea Turtle” on the Bay of Bengal Coast in Orissa on 7^th July at the Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhubaneswar. This was colaborated by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhubaneswar.
• Organized a popular talk on the theme ‘Renewable Sources of Energy and their significance in the present context” on 3^rd. August in Bhubaneswar.
• Organized a popular talk on the theme ‘Environmental Ethics’ on 7^th September in the premises of Orissa Environmental Society, Bhubaneswar.
